Award for high design quality: Microlife NC 200 receives the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018

Product Design 2018.
The Microlife NC 200 enables precise measurement of body temperature without touching the patient. Temperature is automatically taken when the device detects that it is within a distance of 1–5 cm from a person’s forehead. The positioning aid indicates the right distance for correct measurement as well as the end of the measuring process.
This year the Red Dot Design council received submissions from 59 countries all over the world. All of the products entered were assessed individually by an independent and international jury of experts. The Red Dot Award: Product Design thus stands more than ever for one of the most renowned evaluation processes for good design and innovation.
The Microlife NC 200 convinces with its straightforward controls, which provide clear user guidance and integrate very coherently into the overall form.
The Microlife NC 200 is a clinically tested infrared thermometer designed for measuring body and object temperature. Its ergonomic design enables a simple, gentle and precise measurement without touching the patient. It combines many benefits for an innovative and safe home diagnostic: highest accuracy, quality and reliability. The measurement is automatically taken when the device detects the distance is between 1 - 5 cm. The guidance system for self-measurement shows the user on the underside of the thermometer with an indication light that the device is at the right distance and indicates the end of the measurement. The Silent Glow TM technology with display color change, provides direct information about the measured temperature: Green display (reading up to 37.4 °C), red display (reading higher than 37.4 °C). The large illuminated display allows a comfortable measurement without disturbing the child's sleep. With a memory capable of recording up to 30 readings with time and date, it’s possible to track temperature changes over a period of time and monitor trends.
The red dot design award is one of the most prestigious international design competitions. Since 1955, expert juries have made awards annually in the competition for outstanding design achievements which set new standards in the relevant product design achievements which set new standards in the relevant product categories.
